The paint production process generally includes four processes: ingredients, grinding, paint mixing, filtering and packaging. Therefore, the horizontal sand mill, which is the main equipment for the grinding process, should pay special attention to the following details when operating the grinding and dispersing process.

1. When accepting the paint slurry delivered in the pre-mixing process of ingredients, the quality of the pre-mixed slurry must be checked and accepted, and the grinding and dispersing can be carried out after the verification is correct.

2. Before using the horizontal sand mill, check whether the main shaft of the sand mill and the slurry inlet diaphragm pump are normal. And open the sand grinding slurry inlet valve and jacket cooling water valve. Then turn on the slurry inlet diaphragm pump and feed the slurry at the lowest speed until the pressure gauge shows pressure or there is slurry flowing out of the discharge pipe, start the sand mill with the inching method, and then adjust the slurry inlet speed after the operation is normal.

3. Use a horizontal sand mill to grind and disperse the paint slurry. In order to avoid affecting the quality of the product and reducing the efficiency of grinding and dispersing, it is necessary to grind over and over again, and test the fineness every time it is grind and disperse. Circular grinding is strictly prohibited.

4. If the paint paste is too thick during grinding, it can be diluted by adding an appropriate amount of solvent, but the amount needs to be recorded. It is strictly forbidden to add solvent when grinding the color paste. The material turnover tank should be cleaned at any time.

5. When using the same horizontal sand mill, when the variety or color needs to be changed, the operation plan should be circulated according to the principle of shallow to deep and deep to shallow when arranging the operation plan. Pay attention to rinsing with paint paste or thinner between patterns and varieties, and brush the container clean.

6. When the fineness of the paint paste meets the requirements, the paint mixing process can be operated, and the feeding situation, paint paste fineness and grinding time are clearly recorded.
